Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Brooke was so excited about Dr. Suess's birthday.  We had to celebrate with green eggs. However, we didn't have ham, so we had to have sausage instead.  The girls actually do not like eggs, and the change of color didn't help either.

This was Colleen's second year of playing basketball.  She is a very talented young player.  She got a couple compliments on how well she uses both hands when dribbling.  It is clear she loves the game.  This was my first year to coach her basketball team. I had so much fun teaching the girls the basic fundamentals of the game. They were a tremendous group of young girls. 

 

Brooke's Literacy Night

Brooke's kindergarten class had a literacy night. Her class performed a couple songs they sing to help them learn the letters and sounds. She did not really do much singing, eventhough I know she knows the sounds.  She is so much like me, we don't like attention and we don't like to sing.  It was absolutely cute though. She brought so many smiles to Joe and I's face tonight. After the singing performance, Brooke escorted us around the room to practice reading activities. Mrs. Renshaw had several fun activities to share. The pictures are below.

We are so proud of Brooke with the progress she is showing with reading! Tonight was such an enjoyable night.

Snow Fun With Ashley

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

 

While Colleen and Brooke were at school, Ashley and I went outside to play in the snow.  I didn't think we would be out there that long, but it turns out we were outside for over an hour.  We had a blast. We built this snowman.  She helped to make it. She also provided the most gorgeous snowman head ever. I Love This Little Girl!  We also ran around with Dolly. Dolly got Ashley's hat and gloves several times, which of course caused us to chase her around the yard.  This snow made awesome snowballs, so she ran and giggled herself around the yard while I tried to get her with a snowball.  I wish I could have recorded her laughter, it was so precious.

The Amazing Magician.....Colleen!

Colleen went to her friend Megan's magic themed birthday party.  A great idea for a party!  They of course had a magician come to perform.  Before bedtime, we were treated with a magic show by Colleen.  She was absolutely comical.  Joe and I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.  She was great entertainment for the whole family.

No School

School was cancelled for the girls.  I always feel like it is a special treat for me, because I get to spend more time with them.  Of course we had to play in the snow.  This time Brooke and I did most of the work building the snowman.  The most exciting part for the girls was accessorizing the snowman. Below are some pictures.  Ashley has not been wanting to pose for me, so she is only in the very bottom one.

Oh, it was sooooo cooold outside.  The wind and snow were blowing.  We didn't last long out there tonight.  It was still fun, because we were all out there together.
