Brooke's Meet The Teacher Night

Tonight was Brooke's meet the teacher night. She has Mrs. Renshaw. I knew tonight would give me a good indication on how Brooke would handle the transition. She was very quiet and held my hand occasionally, which I loved. To tell you the truth I was very nervous for her. She helped me sort her school supplies, and then we got to meet her teacher. When we first entered the room a friend of hers from soccer greeted us. I was so glad to see Tucker, and felt relief that she knew at least on kid in her class. It turns out she sits by Nolan, who she also has played soccer with. She found her coat hook, basket, seat, paper tray, and we located the bathroom. Her classroom theme is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. I absolutely love it. She has the tree outside the classroom with all the students first letters of their name on the tree. Super Cute!

Colleen's 1st Loose Tooth

Colleen is probably one of the only 1st grade students that has not lost a tooth yet.  Last year, she was so excited to get her name on her kindergarten poster for losing a tooth.  She told me every time one of her kindergarten classmates lost a tooth. However, her name never made that poster.  But, she might just get her name on the first grade poster. On Friday, April 27 she noticed her first loose tooth. It is her bottom right tooth. It brought her to tears when she noticed it was loose. I take blame for this, because without thinking I said, "I could cry because you are growing up." That was enough to bring on the tears by Colleen. So much for the much anticipated loose tooth. It did bring on some much over due cuddle time with Colleen.

Colleen the day she noticed her 1st loose tooth.
